SMS Consent Policy
About this service
Paper Tiger is a conversational assessment platform operated by Subtle Edge LLC. Hiring organizations use Paper Tiger to send assessment invitations to participants via text message.
How consent is collected (written, web-based)
An authorized representative of the hiring organization enters the participant's name and phone number into the Paper Tiger web dashboard. By submitting this information, the organization confirms that the participant provided their phone number in a hiring context (application, resume, or referral) and consents to receiving assessment communications.
The dashboard form requires the representative to select SMS as the delivery method and enter the participant's phone number before submission. This explicit action constitutes written opt-in through a web form.
What messages are sent
Messages are transactional assessment invitations only, never marketing. Participants receive:
- An initial invitation with the organization name and assessment details
- A link to begin the assessment when the participant is ready
- A reminder if a scheduled time is approaching
Message frequency is low: typically 2 to 4 messages per assessment. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Sample message
AI disclosure
The first message discloses that the assessment involves a conversation with AI, consistent with the Illinois AI Act and California SB 243.
Opt-out
Participants can reply STOP at any time to opt out of all future messages. Opt-out is immediate and permanent for that organization. Twilio processes STOP automatically at the carrier level.
Help
Participants can reply HELP at any time to receive information about the service and opt-out instructions.
Privacy
Participant phone numbers are stored on the invitation record only. They are not added to a marketing list or shared with third parties. Numbers are deleted per Subtle Edge LLC's data retention policy. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
